Jason Upton, CRA – President

Jason has worked as an appraiser and supervisor throughout Canada for over 28 years, joining the Appraisal Institute in 1994 and receiving his CRA in 1998. His focus with the company now is general oversight and management of all Canadian operations. As Aedis expands, Jason’s focus is to create and vend in technological and service innovations to assist the clients, in regards to quality, speed and informative data. Jason is head of a special projects team that is working on several groundbreaking project for the valuation industry, that will be applied globally.

In addition to appraisal, fields of study he has completed include commercial building construction, real estate development, trading services, property management, building envelope performance, mediation, home inspection and e-commerce. These studies all took place at Langara College, BCIT, Simon Fraser University and the UBC Sauder School of business.

Professional memberships include the Appraisal Institute of Canada, the Real Estate Institute of Canada, the Mortgage Investment Association of BC, the Mortgage Brokers Association of BC and the Real Estate Board of Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver Island, Victoria and Vancouver.

Stuart Seville – Director of Enterprise Relationships

Stuart Seville serves as Director of Enterprise Relationships at Aedis Appraisals, where he is responsible for developing strategic partnerships with municipalities, corporations, financial institutions, investors, and professional organizations throughout Ontario. His extensive business background and entrepreneurial mindset enable him to identify opportunities, build lasting relationships, and connect clients with practical real estate valuation and advisory solutions.

A lifelong entrepreneur and investor, Stuart has spent decades creating, acquiring, repositioning, and selling businesses and real estate assets. Having travelled to more than 100 countries and worked across diverse markets, he brings a broad perspective and an ability to recognize opportunities that are often overlooked. His philosophy is simple: uncover hidden value where others see only the obvious. This approach has guided his investment decisions and helped clients maximize the potential of residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties.

Over the past fifteen years, Stuart has actively invested in commercial and residential real estate while working alongside property owners, landlords, and investors to help them achieve their long-term objectives. His practical understanding of investment analysis, asset positioning, and market dynamics provides valuable insight to clients navigating today’s real estate environment.

Stuart has also dedicated considerable time to public service and community leadership. He is the former President of the Chamber of Commerce and currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Municipality of West Nipissing’s Economic Development Advisory Committee, where he collaborates with municipal leaders, businesses, and other levels of government to promote economic growth and investment opportunities.

His commitment to community extends beyond economic development. Stuart is a past President of the local Food Bank, volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years, and has been instrumental in supporting numerous community beautification initiatives throughout Sturgeon Falls. Working alongside his wife, he has helped bring public art installations, murals, community markets, and downtown revitalization projects to life—creating spaces that foster community pride while enhancing the area’s appeal to residents, visitors, and businesses alike.

Based in Aedis Appraisals’ Sturgeon Falls office, Stuart combines entrepreneurial experience, community leadership, and strong regional relationships to support enterprise clients across Northern Ontario. His passion for identifying opportunity, coupled with his collaborative approach to business development, makes him a trusted resource for organizations seeking innovative real estate valuation and consulting solutions.

Bryce Wickstrom – Director of Technology

Bryce Wickstrom is the Director of Technology for Aedis Appraisals, where he helps lead the development and improvement of the company’s digital systems, online ordering tools, website platforms, marketing technology, and internal workflow processes.

Bryce brings over 26 years of experience in sales, account management, digital marketing, website development, customer success, and business process improvement. His background includes client onboarding, product demonstrations, CRM systems, lead generation, and the creation of practical digital tools that improve communication and service delivery.

At Aedis, Bryce works closely with Jason Upton and the management team to support the company’s continued modernization. His focus is on making the appraisal process easier, faster, and more transparent for clients while helping the Aedis team stay organized, responsive, and technologically current.

Anton Ivanenko

Anton Ivanenko – Staff Appraiser & Training Manager

Anton has joined Aedis in 2019. He is a holder of Masters Degree in Civil Engineering and Economy (Ukraine) as well as Real Estate Analyst (Langara graduate).

Anton was born and raised in Ukraine where after graduating he worked as designated forensic building expert and appraiser for almost a decade. His goal is to gain experience towards AACI designation. Anton’s favourite hobbies include ski and he has a keen interest in architecture and design.

Pankaj Chauhan, B.Tech., PQS, GSC
Director of Cost Consulting & Municipal Services

Pankaj Chauhan is a Candidate Appraiser with Aedis Appraisals, bringing more than 15 years of experience in construction management, quantity surveying, cost estimating, and engineering. His extensive technical background provides clients with a comprehensive understanding of building construction, replacement cost analysis, project feasibility, and the factors that influence real estate value.

Prior to joining Aedis Appraisals, Pankaj managed multi-million-dollar high-rise residential, commercial, and institutional construction projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area. His responsibilities included project estimating, budgeting, cost forecasting, contract administration, technical reporting, risk assessment, and stakeholder coordination. This experience has provided him with an exceptional understanding of construction methodologies, building systems, and project economics, which translates directly into the appraisal profession.

Pankaj holds a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering and is a Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) through the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS). He is also a Gold Seal Certified (GSC) construction professional, a nationally recognized designation that reflects advanced competency in construction management. Having completed the educational requirements toward Candidate membership with the Appraisal Institute of Canada, he is building upon his engineering and quantity surveying expertise through professional real estate valuation.

His technical strengths include construction cost analysis, replacement cost estimation, market and property research, site inspections, data analysis, and the preparation of detailed technical reports. Pankaj combines strong analytical skills with practical field experience, enabling him to approach valuation assignments with accuracy, diligence, and a thorough understanding of the built environment.

At Aedis Appraisals, Pankaj supports residential and commercial valuation assignments throughout the Greater Toronto Area. His unique combination of engineering, quantity surveying, and construction management experience strengthens the firm’s ability to deliver well-supported, technically sound appraisal reports for lenders, legal professionals, municipalities, corporations, and private clients.

 

 

Reignier Jules G. Demetillo – Quality Control Manager

Reignier Jules G. Demetillo
Reignier was born in Polomolok South Cotabato, Philippines. He was raised in Agusan Del Sur at the age of 6 and he goes back to Polomolok at age 14 to start a new life as a High Schooler. Even though he is so young he already exposed to various work to be a carpenter and an engine mechanic like his father, a humble, resilient and silent man.

At the age of 18, he took a college course in BS Marine Engineering; he chooses this course to broaden his knowledge of big engines and help his family. While studying in college, every weekend he works as a mechanic or a carpenter to help his father. He graduated at age 21 and start his new carrier as an engine cadet, after one year as an engine cadet, he applies as a mechanic and a truck helper for 1 year but he is transferred to a position as a Document keeper and budgeting employee of the trucking service.

In May year 2019, he resigns and applied at Aedis Appraisals as a Quantity Technician and underwent extensive training for 3 months. After his hard work, he was promoted as a supervisor and in December 2019, he was promoted again as a Quality Control Manager, his role is to ensure and develop effective quality control processes s o that reports meet quality standards before submission to clients.
When the weekend approaches, he is spending his time with his family and friends to play some of his favorite games like basketball and travel to different locations on Mindanao to unwind or even to Luzon when he has time.

Ian Steward

Ian Steward, AACI, P.App  – British Columbia

Ian has over 25 years’ experience in the local real estate market. A graduate of BCIT, he received his AACI, P.App designation in 2002 and has been teaching real estate courses for the Appraisal Institute of Canada since 2003.

From 1990 to present, Ian has been active in appraisal, sales, acquisition, disposal, leasing, administration and property management of municipal properties for local government. His work also includes real estate investment analysis, portfolio management, legal and environmental stewardship. Strengths from Ian include project management – budgeting, supervision and closure, public relations communications and management and control of changing budgets. Ian joined Aedis in 2008 and has actively been a manager since.

 

 

Manishkumar Patel, CRA – Ontario, Greater Toronto and Surrounding Area

Manish’s background includes a Bachelors degree in Science and real estate brokers license. Manish has been appraising homes since 2017 and has been with Aedis Appraisals for 2 years now. His specialty is single family homes and row/townhomes but also able to value acreage properties capably.

Originally from the beautiful, coastline state of Gurjarat, India, Manish has settled now in Brampton, Ontario with his wife, son and daughter. Manish is a dedicated father and has always put his family first in these ever changing times in the industry and world.

Manish worked hard to receive in CRA (Canadian Residential Appraiser) designation in summer 2021 and is now the area supervisor for Greater Toronto and surroundings. He has been a huge asset to the Aedis team, particularly for his quality of work and flexibility.

 

 

Aedis Internship Program

The Aedis Internship Program may be just the head start you’re looking for! We offer a three month internship program, where you’ll have the opportunity to apply your educational experience into practice. The program involves regular lessons and applications in:

  1. Property Inventory (how to measure homes, take note of value components, identify construction and design elements and more)
  2. Research (what and how to obtain from City Hall, BC Assessment and other regulatory bodies)
  3. Report Writing (how to create a report that the client/reader will appreciate, what is important to the reader and how to express it)
  4. Appraisal Concepts (how to gauge accurately effective age, economic life, condition ratings, neighbourhood analysis and other)
  5. Mathematical Derivations and Adjusting (how to support your adjustments with market based evidence quickly and accurately, how to establish land value, how to gauge and calculate depreciation and more)
  6. The Business End (why people need appraisals, how to interact and help them, what to say/what not to say, finding new opportunities)
